Eric Magiera (5-3) threw a complete-game four hitter, while Justin Wilson, Scott MacDonald, Andrew Stafford, Frankii Bernazard, Ed Monley and Dan Kennedy each had two hits to lead the Orioles (14-13) to a 12-1 rout over the Royals (21-7) on Friday night at Kyte Monroe. MacDonald drove in a team-high three runs, while Monley drove in the game winner in the fifth inning for the Orioles. With the win, the Orioles clinch the No. 3 seed in the playoffs.

With 3 games left in the regular season there is just 1 seed up for grabs for the playoffs.  The Red Sox and Royals have clinched the first and second seeds and the Tigers and Phillies are set at the 7 and 8 seeds.  So in the first round the Red Sox will take on the Phillies and the Royals will take on the Tigers.  While the Brewers can still catch the A's in points by winning their last game the A's have the tie breaker as they won the season series with the Brewers 3-1.  So the A's are locked in as the 5th seed and the Brewers are the 6th seed.  Those teams will wait it out to see who they play as the Orioles are currently 2pts behind the Dodgers but have 2 games left to play.  If the Orioles and Dodgers finish tied the Orioles would win the tie breaker based on their better Runs Against for the season (Orioles and Dodgers tied their season series 2-2).  So the Orioles just need to win one of their last two games to capture the 3rd seed.
 
I will send an update after tonights games letting everyone know if the matchups are set or if we have to wait until after Monday nights game.

Six pitchers combined for the final win of the regular season. CJ Sulek, Girodat, Ford, Van Son, Caldwell, RSulek, Dobson one hit ea. We end  with a final record of 27-1good for 1st place in 2010. Round 1 of playoffs in a best of 3 series vs Phillies starts Wed Aug. 4th @ Kyte-A @8:30. Starter is TBD.

Andrew Stafford finished 3-for-3 with a double and grand slam, Scott MacDonald went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and Matt Spiess (4-1) picked up his fourth win of the season, working 5.0 innings and struck out two as the Orioles (13-13) upended the Tigers (9-18) 10-6 on Tuesday at Fraser High School. Tim Brown had a double, two walks and a hit-by-pitch, while Nick Thurman tripled and tossed the final 2.0 innings, striking out two.
