This should be a very interesting year.  Two complete new teams, the Yankees under new management as the Dodgers and as stated above a number of teams "combining".
 
Looking forward to seeing the improvements of each team.

Mets, Marlins and Cubs couldn't raise the money needed to enter their teams this year. Merging was the only option. We roll with 8 teams this year. The economy hurt everyone I guess.

I can't speak for other teams but a couple of things came into play in our decision to not have a team this year.  First, we lost just about all our pitching due to injuries or guys just not having time to play this year.  With deposits due this month I didn't feel like I could pay out that money knowing we would be able to find enough arms to compete the way we have in the past.
 
Second, I just didn't have the time to recruite players and raise money and run a team this year.  We have a baby coming in May which will leave that month up in the air for me personally.
 
Our core group was still ready to play but those things just were too much.  So after 10 years we decided it was time to move on from the Cubs.

The SCS MABL welcomes the SCS A's in joing the league. It's another official new team in the league. Skipper Brett Schalk heads up this brand new team in the 2010 season. Good luck to the A's!!
